How Will the Hackathon Work?

This will be a 2-Day Event including:

  • Day 1 will begin with team formation; each team will consist of programmers, marketing and biz dev experts and international development professionals. While the techies work on the applications the rest of the team will work to develop usability guides, business and sustainability models.

  • Day 2 will include both working and lectures open to the broader public, culminating in a pitch event. with a judging panel and awards.

How do I Know That the Applications Produced Will be Implemented?

From the outset this Hackathon has been designed to respond to already identified needs in the developing world (tell us your tech needs). A short-list of potential applications will be identified ahead of the event by an experienced advisory team. This list will be selected based on a clearly identified need that can be addressed at a 2-day hackathon, ability to reach target audience, potential impact and presence of a implementing organisation.
