Pears Challenge Demo Day
Ten months ago, a group of Israeli entrepreneurs took up the Pears Challenge to develop innovative, profitable ventures with the power to change poor people's lives in India. After half a year of intensive work with some of India's top healthcare players, the 4 ventures with the most promising affordable healthcare innovations went to India to validate their ideas. Yesterday we saw the entrepreneurs talk about their journey and discuss their solutions with a panel of global healthcare experts and investors!
The Pears Challenge fellows who presented their ventures were:
Yoel Ezra, EfA EfA developed the RevDx, a programmable lab-on-hand for automated blood tests and infectious disease diagnostics, enabling the appropriate treatment at the right time.
Max Simonovsky, Soapy Soapy is a for-profit venture that has developed an independent hygiene station. It generates water from the atmosphere and uses a proprietary soap formula, to wash hands to standards set - by the World Health Organization. It takes only 30 seconds and uses 95% less water than any other available solutions.
Nimrod Lev, NASHI Diagnostics "Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic condition that effects 1 OUT OF 4 INDIAN WOMEN at reproductive age (12-45). NASHI mission is to provide hundreds of millions of women who suffer from PCOS with better, faster and cheaper diagnostics through a friendly and cost effective product. Efi Binder, Mosteq Mosteq is developing next generation solutions for Sterile Insect Technique (SIT), a biological control method that requires the release of large amounts of sterile insects in an environment in order to reduce their population.
