The Pears Program convenes government, business, and international bodies in order to build a supportive policy environment for innovation for development. We work directly with the Israeli government, including the Foreign Trade Administration and Office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of the Economy, the National Economic Council at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Israel Export Institute and the Foreign Ministry, in order to develop policies to support Israeli innovators and companies interested in innovation for development. Amongst the major accomplishments of the program to date have been successfully advocating for the launch of an Israeli Grand Challenges Fund for R&D in the fields of health, agriculture and water for development.
