Food Security and Food Price - What Goes Up Must Come Down

The Hartog School of Government and Policy hosted Dr. Jean Lebel, VP of Programs and Partnerships at Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Dr. Lebel spoke about food scarcity in the world, and the deterioration of food security status in the last decade, specifically in Sub-Saharan Africa, Southern Asia due mainly to price volatility. He elaborated on the IDRC’s efforts to mitigate the world food crisis specifically in applied agricultural research and innovative partnerships.
